About the instructor
Yasmin started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) in 2004 with Carlos Eduardo Francis (Cadu), a black belt under Fernando Yamasaki. Since then she competed, travelled a lot and spent many hours on the mat. She received her purple belt in 2007 from Cadu.
“I trained with legends such as Ricardo De La Riva (BJJ), muay thai & MMA trainer Artur Mariano, Marcos Barbosa (BJJ) and last but not least Fernando Yamasaki. I also had the pleasure to train with topnotch female champs like Michelle Nicolini, Luanna Alzuguir, Michelle Mata among many others.
In the Netherlands, my homecountry, I work on my skills withMathieu Peters (JJF) and Remco van Baardewijk (AGUA). I’ve been abroad in total for 1,5 years to practise Jiu Jitsu in Brazil and the USA. I have competed since 2005 five times in the Worldchampionships. In 2007 I became worldchampion BJJ in the blue belt division and world champion No Gi in the blue/purple belt division. In 2009 I won double bronze in the purple belt division in the worlds. Besides victories, BJJ gives me so much more. It introduced me to new cultures, great people and I am a proud BJJ & Grappling teacher of my new students at the Dutch Judoschool Kenamju.
I hope to meet & roll with you soon!”
